CHECKLISTS FOR THE PPC BEFORE LEAVING HOME- forecast- windmap, radar, dewpoint/ icemap, spare plugs and tools right clothes, gloves, earplugs, glasses radio/headphones,gps/batt,camera,pen/paper compass, map, watch,gascan full and oil review malfunction list PREFLIGHT WIGGLE CHECK- fuel level and cap on wiggle/check all components in clockwise circle observe all bolt threads are exposed clean prop, do all controls work smoothly TAKEOFF - wind check for direction, lay out chute and check and check for tangles ear plugs or earphones and helmit on, gps/timer on crank and warn to 225f, dip with r and l ignition 1 or 2 pulse inflation with lots of checking fly low along runway a bit and land if poor handling INFLIGHT Pilot - alert, warm/cool, Situation-airspeed,attitude,altitude,obstructions,landing Mechanical-engine,chute,airframe,fueltime,controls Weather-wind,visability,precipitation,light,forecast Navigation-location,destination,communication,landmarks LANDING fly over airport perpendicular to runway wind direction, other traffic, obstructions, enter counterclockwise pattern, at 10 ft from end establish level flight then slight sink rate switch off when wheels touch or dont reestablish level flight and flare pull in steering lines so chute wont overfly EMERGENCY LANDING circle for wind direction and spot are there obstructions and wires? land in flattest smoothest place maximum flare at 5 feet with engine out POST FLIGHT lay out chute and check for damage does fuel level make sense for flight time? bag and store chute record any malfunction and make a repair plan ON TRAILER / STORAGE tie down for road travel, tarp cover if outside lock engine to trailer, tie down gas and oil fill tank if cold, drain tank and run carb dry for long storage MAINTAINANCE as per Rotax and Harmenings MALFUNCTION record/date and cross off/date when corrected
